Quilt for Hope after October 7: Crafting Together

28 August 2024
Wednesday 6pm - 8pm
Jewish Museum of Australia

Join us at the Jewish Museum of Australia: Gandel Centre of Judaica for a communal quilt-making project. Quilt for Hope is an initiative by Melbourne Jewish women, including celebrated quilter Judy Newman, bringing people together to craft with love & solidarity.

We invite you to be part of this beautiful tradition as we create a collaborative quilt. You will design & create a single patch, which will be joined into a community quilt, expressing our collective love, thoughts, & prayers. The completed quilt will then be displayed in at our Museum, before it is gifted to a community in Israel directly impacted on October 7.

Additional Information
No experience is necessary & all materials are provided – simply bring your willingness to share, stitch, & connect. If you wish to participate in making the Quilt for Hope but cannot attend the evening workshop, you can collect a patch from reception at the JMA from Friday 30 August (10am) to make at home. Return your completed quilt patch by Friday 06 September (5pm) to be included in the communal quilt.
