Join acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Anita Lester for a special intimate performance at the Jewish Museum of Australia, marking the closing of the captivating exhibition, A Secret Chord. Known for her haunting voice and poetic style, Anita will perform her own songs alongside the timeless works of Leonard Cohen, offering a soulful tribute to his enduring legacy. The evening will also feature the stunning talents of Alma ZygierRita Satch and Ari Jacob, weaving together music and conversation in celebration of Cohen’s profound influence.

Following the success of Anita’s beloved tribute show ‘Ladies Who Sing Leonard’, this performance is more than just music, it’s a reflective dialogue on Cohen’s songwriting, exploring why his words resonate so powerfully in today’s world. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience an evening of song, storytelling and reflection.

About the artist
Anita Lester is a multidisciplinary artist from Melbourne, Australia, whose work spans music, painting, filmmaking, poetry and illustration. Her art weaves themes of longing, loss, hope and Jewish tradition, earning acclaim for its haunting beauty and evocative storytelling. Highlights include her solo EP Erato, debut album The Clown, the award-winning Holocaust-themed film Noch Am Leben, and a portrait series of Holocaust survivors commissioned by the Melbourne Holocaust Museum. Anita has also illustrated books, including Arnold Zable’s The Glass Horse of Venice, and continues to push creative boundaries with her upcoming feature film Song of Songs.
